Uncommon Breakthrough requires Unusual Decisions
There are mighty exploits we are supposed to do. God has called and enabled us to do these.
On the day of judgement, the four lepers will march into heaven boldly and declare their exploits. Samson too will declare the works he did. What about you? will you have any exploits to recount?
The lepers said to themselves: Let us do something new!
Their leader was a risk taker - he said "Come, let us fall into the hands of the Assyrians, where there is food, but also the enemy. When the Lord is with you, he will enable you to deal with the enemy that is guarding something you want.
Don't read the bible religiously. The word says "the letter kills, it is the spirit that gives life" or in short lack of knowledge or understanding can be deadly. If you study the scriptures you need the Spirit to grant you wisdom, understanding and revelation to know what to do.
The lepers said to themselves, let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die. (You must understand that in your desperate situation you have nothing to lose and be bold).
The moment the lepers said this (made their bold declaration of faith) God moved on their behalf. God is looking for those who will step out and take risks. The religious ones will die. The church as a whole has failed by becoming religious.
Look at the story of the prodigal son. The elder brother was angry at his brother for coming back to partake of his inheritance. Rather than being happy at his redemption he was bitter. He had failed to enjoy any of the benefits of his heritage and despised his brother who had. Not that we should be squanderers or loose in our behaviour or drunkards. But we should be happy boisterous people. Full of joy, caring, sharing, encouraging and joyful. How many souls would we win if we showed this character? We should be prosperous partakers of life.
Jesus said in his word: I come that you might have life and have it to the full. Many Christians live as if they think they must suffer and be deprived in this life and enjoy later on in heaven. What a waste of life and opportunity. God wants us to enjoy now and in the hereafter. What father wouldn't?
When you take a step for something that challenges you, God will do something with your step. When the lepers took a step, the lord magnified their steps and made the Assyrians hear the sound of chariots and scatter in fear and disarray. A rumour started that the Israelites had hired mercenaries to come do battle with them and spread through their ranks terrifying them and causing them to flee their camp leaving their goods and armour behind.
Read 2 Kings 7:5-7
5 At dusk they got up and went to the camp of the Syrians. When they reached the edge of the camp, no one was there, 6 for the Lord had caused the Syrians to hear the sound of chariots and horses and a great army, so that they said to one another, "Look, the king of Israel has hired the Hittite and Egyptian kings to attack us!" 7 So they got up and fled in the dusk and abandoned their tents and their horses and donkeys. They left the camp as it was and ran for their lives
